On May 30, Trump became the first president in the country’s history to be convicted of a crime. when a jury found him guilty of falsifying business records to hide his affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels and thus protect his 2016 election campaign.

The former president and his staunch supporters in the Republican Party have relentlessly attacked Bragg since the time of Trump’s arrest, as well as the judge who presided over his trial, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, and his family members.

YoThere have even been white powder threats and false bomb threats, many of them with messages that reflect the language and baseless conspiracy theories pushed by Trump and his allies, calling for greater security.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg recently gained notoriety again after he expressed opposition to former President Donald Trump’s request to lift the gag order in his hush money case, despite the conclusion of the criminal trial.

The position of the prosecutors, led by Braggcomes after Trump maintained that the gag order was no longer necessary, since the trial had already come to an end.

Given this, prosecutors sent a letter to Judge Juan Merchán, arguing that the Court’s orders were based not only on the need to avoid threats to the impartiality of the trial itself, but also on the Court’s “broader obligation.” to prevent real damage to the integrity of the process, to protect ‘the order’ of this Court, and to avoid risks to the administration of justice.”

According to Bragg, Merchán should maintain the gag order “at least during the sentencing hearing and the resolution of any post-trial motions.”
