This Tuesday, Justin Timberlake was arrested in The Hamptons, New York, for drunk driving. Apparently, this was not the first time that the singer had problems due to drinking alcohol.
According to Page Six, A source said that Timberlake’s alcohol problems go back a few years. “It’s not a secret. “Everyone knows it,” the source said.
“He has a real drinking problem, a lot of marijuana, but a serious alcohol problem, and he’s been hiding it and masking it for years,” he added.
Despite his former problems with alcohol, Another source assured Page Six that before the arrest Justin Timberlake had not drunk for a long time.
The source indicated that the singer’s relapse into alcohol is due to the launch of his world tour Forget Tomorrow.
“It’s a real thing, and when you have a drinking problem, it’s obvious, but this tour has been imposed on it and it’s been a very dark place,” he said.
Justin Timberlake failed sobriety tests
Justin Timberlake was arrested early Tuesday morning after leaving dinner with friends at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor on Long Island, for drunk driving and running a stop sign.
According to Daily Mail, The police report indicated that the singer had trouble keeping his car in his lane while driving and also ran a stop sign.
Upon arresting him, police officers noticed several signs of intoxication. “Her eyes were red and glassy, a strong smell of alcohol emanated from her, her speech was slow and she had difficulty maintaining attention,” they indicated.
At the time of his arrest, The singer also had an argument with the officers who detained him because he refused to take a test to measure his blood alcohol level.. “No, I’m not going to do a chemical test. I refuse. “I refuse,” Timberlake refuted.
The singer was formally charged with driving under the influence and received two additional citations: one for running a stop sign and another for failing to maintain his lane.
Within hours of the arrest, Justin Timberlake was released without paying bail. Additionally, he was banned from driving for one year in New York State.
