Attempted murder suspect escapes from San Bernardino County jail

San Bernardo County authorities are searching for an inmate, attempted murder suspect, who escaped from a prison in Rancho Cucamonga.

The suspect, Deshaun Stamps, 29, of Riversidehad been in custody since January 30, 2023 accused of attempted murder, authorities reported in a press release.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD) said the West Valley Detention Center discovered the disappearance of the suspect shortly after noon this Sunday, June 16.

Until Monday morning, authorities were not clear how Stamps was able to escape from prison, which It occurred during an outdoor recreation period around 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

Stamps was described as an African-American man, standing approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He is bald, has green eyes and has tattoos on his neck and head..

Authorities asked the public avoid having direct communication with the suspect of attempted murder.
