The governor of Florida attacked the nation’s leader for allowing the Cuban government to allow a Russian nuclear submarine and other vessels to carry out maneuvers on its coastlines.
Ron DeSantis considers that the position assumed by the federal government, by having a group of vessels led by a nuclear submarine of the Russian Navy a few nautical miles away backed by Cuba, It sends a message to the rest of the world about how weak the nation looks under the Democratic administration.
“We are failing as a country with deterrent capabilities, and I think it all starts at the top, with the president of the United States.
I think history has shown that these bad actors respond to force, force deters them. Weakness will not deter them. Confusion will not deter them. They will not be deterred by a president wandering aimlessly“, he expressed.
As part of its routine work monitoring the Florida coast, since Thursday, the Southern Command based in Doral, in southern Florida, reported the presence of the fast attack submarine USS Helena, in Guantanamo Bay.
However, Sabrina Singh, deputy spokesperson for the Pentagon, ruled out that the Russian flotilla represented a threat to American national security.
“We will always and constantly monitor any foreign vessel operating near United States territorial waters. Obviously we take it seriously, but these exercises do not represent a threat to the United States,” she indicated.
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) of Cuba confirmed that the Russian naval detachment composed of the frigate Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the oil tanker of the Pashin fleet and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker, will remain on the coast. Cuban until June 17.
“The visit corresponds to the historical friendly relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation and is strictly in accordance with international regulations,” a statement said.
It should be noted that the movement of Russian vessels to Cuba arises as a response to the support that Joe Biden gave to Ukraine with the aim of continuing to withstand the attacks of the Russian army.
