The Biden-Harris campaign released a Spanglish video featuring the voices of Dreamers across the country on the 12th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

“Here to Stay” shows Dreamers from all over the country who They condemn Trump for his attacks on immigrants and the DACA programwhile highlighting what Joe Biden is doing to strengthen the DACA program, protect Dreamers and the historic step taken by the Biden administration to ensure DACA recipients across the country have access to affordable health care.

In addition to “Here to Stay,” Biden-Harris campaign is launching “Standing with Dreamers”a video of Vice President Kamala Harris explaining the administration’s commitment to fighting for Dreamers.

The Biden and Harris campaign also referred to Donald Trump tried to end DACA as presidentbroke the immigration system and will make it worse if he is re-elected:

  • As president, Trump left our immigration system in ruins by bending key agencies and attempting to cut crucial resources from proven border security measures.
  • He separated the children from their parents and had no plan to reunite them.
  • He continues to attack and demonize immigrants, saying they are “animals” who are “poisoning the blood of our country.”
  • He wants to create mass detention camps for immigrants.
  • Push to end birthright citizenship.
  • And despite years of tough talks, Donald Trump continues to stand in the way of long-awaited immigration reform because he believes it will help him politically.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden is committed to giving Dreamers the opportunities and support they need to succeed, from day one from his government:

  • He sent Congress a plan to provide a path to citizenship for Dreamers, expand legal pathways for migration, and invest in smarter, more effective border security from day one.
  • He called on his government team to do everything possible to preserve and strengthen DACA.
  • Expanded access to quality, affordable healthcare through the ACA to more than 100,000 Dreamers.
  • He continues to call on Congress to provide a path to citizenship for Dreamers.

The director of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, Julie Chávez Rodríguez, declared on the 12th anniversary of DACA: “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will never stop fighting for Dreamers, as they have proven time and time again. Dreamers are essential to the fabric of our country and America is their home. That’s why the Biden-Harris administration has worked to strengthen DACA and recently expanded access to quality, affordable healthcare through the ACA to more than 100,000 Dreamers.”

“Trump, on the other hand, is doubling down on authoritarianism, embracing racists like Joe Arpaio and promising to end DACA, separate families, and institute mass immigration detention camps. Trump will do anything to benefit himself and his corporate allies and nothing to improve the lives of the American people. The American people and the Latino community deserve a president who focuses on providing solutions for them and their families; “Only Joe Biden is that president,” stated Julie Chávez Rodríguez.
