Joe Biden turned to some icons of the Hollywood entertainment industry to raise $28,000,000 in fundraising that allow him to continue in the race to achieve his reelection as head of the White House.
In order to take advantage of celebrity appeal, the one who advises the president chose to call on citizens to take part in an event that will take place tonight at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
As guests of honor, Barack Obama, former president of the nation, as well as actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney, will accompany Biden.
Tickets for the event sold between $250 and $500,000, with special access for those who bought tickets in the highest ranks.
To ensure the success of the meeting, a contest was organized for minority donors who, with a donation of $20, could win the opportunity to attend the fundraiser where they would be allowed to meet Biden, Obama, Roberts and Clooney .
Regarding those who donated $500,000, they obtained four tickets to the Peacock Theater in the front row, a photograph with Biden and Obama, as well as guaranteed access to a reception and the special party where the two Democratic presidents will be present.
About, Jeffrey Katzenberg, co-chair of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, was pleased with the success in raising money achieved through the event.
“We are going to see unprecedented participation in the world of media and entertainment. The enthusiasm and commitment to Biden/Harris could not be greater. “We all understand that these are the most important elections of our lives,” she said in a statement.
For its part, Rufus Gifford, finance president of Joe Biden’s campaign, acknowledged that the response of citizens to the event exceeded the stated objective.
“When you come up with an event like this, a concept like this, you know it’s going to be big. You know it’s going to be exciting. You know it’s going to attract a lot of attention. It’s going to raise a lot of money. This one exceeded all of our expectations,” she mentioned.
It was announced that every dollar raised will be used to open offices, hire organizers, and launch paid media campaigns focused on empowering Joe Biden.
