Two people died from a wrong-way crash caused by a driver suspected of driving under the influence early this Saturday in Ventura County, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported.
CHP officers were dispatched for the first time to Freeway 101, near Emma Wood State Beachshortly before 2:30 am this Saturday, June 8.
Authorities received reports of a driver, who was heading southbound in the lanes of the
Freeway 101 going north, at an estimated speed of 80 miles per houraccording to preliminary information.

The car traveling in the opposite direction, identified as a Volkswagen Jetta, finally collided head-on with a Nissan Versanorth of Seaward Avenue.
Images in place showed the two vehicles wrecked on opposite sides of Freeway 101in a place where debris from cars could be seen scattered across all lanes of the highway.
California Highway Patrol officials issued a press release this Saturday afternoon to confirm that the two victims, a 52 year old man and a 55 year old manboth from the Santa Barbara area, had died at the scene of the crash.
