Uruguay presented this Sunday the list of 16 players chosen by Marcelo Bielsa to play a friendly against Mexico on June 5 in the United States.
One of the main novelties is that two footballers who were not mentioned are the midfielder of the Real Madrid Federico Valverde and Barcelona center back Ronald Araujo.
The first of them is in the Spanish capital, where this Sunday he will celebrate winning the Champions League with his teammates. Valverde and Madrid conquered this Saturday after beating Borussia Dortmund 0-2 in a final in which the Uruguayan played all 90 minutes.
For its part, Araujo has already arrived in Montevideo and this Sunday he joined the work that his colleagues carry out at the Celeste Complex with our sights set on the next Copa América.
On this same day, around 7:30 p.m. local time, 12 of those called up will travel to the United States along with the coaching staff to play the friendly.
They are the defenders Sebastián Cáceres, José María Giménez, Lucas Olaza, Mathías Olivera and Nahitan Nández; the midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Rodrigo Bentancur; the wingers Facundo Pellistri, Maximiliano Araújo and Brian Rodríguez; and the attackers Darwin Núñez and Luciano Rodríguez.
For their part, the goalkeepers Sergio Rochet and Santiago Mele, the midfielder César Araújo and the winger Facundo Torres They will join their teammates directly from the countries in which they play.
The friendly match between Mexico and Uruguay is framed in the preparation of these teams for the Copa América, where the Celeste will share the Group C with Bolivia, Panama and the United States.
