Anitta reveals that she prepared her album from the hospital, when she was suffering from a mysterious illness

Anitta is enjoying the success of his most recent album Funk Generationbut now she made it known that during its production she thought she might die, due to a strange illness that kept her in the hospital for months.

In an interview for the television program “Today” The Brazilian singer spoke about it: “I was super, super sick. That was right after I had Covid. I had some really crazy symptoms, I started reviewing my whole life, and I thought, ‘I’ve wasted a lot of time in my life, trying to achieve goals and please people and be successful. And then my mentality changed.”

There was a moment when Anitta thought she might lose her life, so she set out to make a truly memorable musical work.: “I made this album in the hospital, talking to the producers, but I didn’t tell them I was sick. I said to myself: ‘In case I die I’m going to leave behind an album that I’m proud of.’ I didn’t do it thinking streaming“Not in algorithms, not in numbers, just in having fun and loving what I did.”

In 2022, during a tour in Europe, Anitta began to feel unwell, but doctors could not diagnose the cause of her ailments.. She commented to Telemundo the following: “I underwent cancer tests, spent five months in the hospital, had to stop working and was unable to fully take advantage of the success that (the song) had given me. “Wrap” due to my serious illness…during that time I heard that perhaps I would not make it, that my life was hanging by a thread.” The singer underwent tests again, and fortunately the high cancer rate had decreased.

In the program Anitta was also questioned about how her stage name came about (she is actually called Larissa de Macedo Machado): “It comes from a television series in Brazil in which there was a 19-year-old girl, the same age when I started in my country. That Anitta said that she didn’t want to be just a woman, she wants to wake up, and she decides what kind of woman she wants to be. I’m here for that.”
