The Argentine Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, coach of Inter Miami, assured this Saturday that Leo Messi had a “very good” game against Saint Louis in the MLS (3-3) and that he will now do “what he has done all his life, being present with Argentina.”

“In today’s game he was responsible with Jordi Alba for participating in all of our attacks. He insisted during the 90 minutes. I have not seen the alleged ankle problem, from my point of view it ended well and now he will do what is appropriate, lor what he has done all his life, being present with the Argentine team,” Martino said in the press conference after the game.

Lio Messi will miss up to seven games with Inter Miami this season. The Miami club is first in the Eastern Conference over Cincinnati with two more games and two points ahead.

Inter Miami drew 3-3 at home with Saint Louis with goals from Leo Messi, the Uruguayan Luis Suárez and the Spanish Jordi Alba.

Alba, a former Barcelona player, scored the final goal to make it 3-3 in the 87th minute for Inter Miami, which is momentarily the leader of the East with two points ahead of Cincinnati, which has two games less.

Asked about what awaits Inter Miami without Messi during the Copa América, Martino did not hide the fact that his absence will be noticed in the team.

“Regarding Leo, Jordi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suárez, they are the players they are, “There has been a lot of attention paid to them, and it is logical that we all expect them to have a strong impact on the game,” said Martino.

“But I insist on what would happen to the other teams when they lack these players,” he added.

The Saint Louis players left behind three consecutive defeats and completed in Miami a brilliant match to balance the goals of Leo Messi, Luis Suárez and Jordi Alba.

While for Missouri, Chris Durkin, Indiana Vassilev and Suárez, Inter’s Uruguayan star, scored with an own goal.
