The Mexican National Guard dealt a significant blow to organized crime in the state of Puebla, after dismantling a laboratory in which They mixed drugs with different sweets, which were sold in local schools. Three people were arrested in the operation, two men and a woman, one of them is the alleged leader of the criminal cell.
The favorite sweets of middle school, high school and university students were there, there was hazelnut cream, gummies, chamoy and more of the products that children and adults like, but they had the added bonus of having synthetic drugs and marijuana as an additive, which would cause consumer addiction.
According to the La Silla Rota site, methamphetamines, fentanyl pills, 450 kilograms of marijuana, 500 grams of crystal and chemical precursors to manufacture synthetic drugs were found in the house that served as a laboratory.
The incident occurred in the municipality of San Andrés Cholula, near the drug laboratory there are important higher education institutions, from what was seized it is known that students from those universities were their main marketsince beers, vapes and cigarettes of different brands were also found, these products also contained drugs, according to the weekly Proceso.
They exported the drugs to the US.
All the merchandise produced in that drug laboratory was distributed in different points, in addition to Cholula they were taken to other cities in Puebla, and to places as far away as Cancún, in the state of Quintana Roo, and Mérida, in Yucatán, but its circulation was not limited. only to the country of origin, They were also sent to the United States.
Information provided by the authorities indicates that he was arrested during the dismantling operation. Sergio Omar Manzola Mendozaalias “El Burro”, identified as the leader of the criminal cell that altered the candy.
No information has been provided regarding the other detainees, it is only known that they participated in the production of these products and the processing of ketamine to produce the synthetic drug.
Given this situation, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) asked the Government of Puebla to carry out an educational campaign in the state’s schools, to raise awareness about the existence of said products and their dangers.
