After several failed attempts to dismiss the federal charges filed against him for having improperly possessed weapons, Hunter Biden surprised by attending a Delaware court to witness a hearing prior to his trial.
After special prosecutor David Weiss flagged him for making a false statement about purchasing a firearm; for making a false statement relating to information required to be maintained by a licensed firearms dealer; and for one count of possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user or addict of a controlled substance, the president’s son pleaded not guilty in the U.S. District Court of Delaware.
In this way, everything was ready for the trial led by Judge Maryellen Noreika to begin on June 3.
According to his file, Hunter Biden purchased a Coldt Cobra revolver on October 12, 2018, when he was legally unable to do so, which is a serious crime, since he, as a lawyer, knew it.
“Knowingly made a false and fictitious written statement, intended and likely to deceive that dealer with respect to a fact important to the legality of the sale of the firearm…certifying that he was not an unlawful user or addict of any stimulant, narcotic or any other controlled substance, when in reality, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious,” states one of the accusations made by prosecutors.
A factor that could weigh against the son of the nation’s president is related to the reason that led him to be discharged from the Navy in 2014, as he tested positive. for cocaine in an exam.
Altogether, the list of charges weighing on Hunter Biden’s back in this process could mean up to 25 years in prison, three years of supervised release and $250,000.
For this reason, the testimony that his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle can provide is essential, who after seeing him consume drugs and without the will to move forward, chose to ask for a divorce.
