California woman accused of strangling her mother and hiding her body in the closet

The Police Department of the city of Hanford, California, announced the arrest of a 37-year-old woman, after authorities discovered a lifeless elderly person inside a closet.

Through a statement, it was detailed that on May 18, the Police responded to a report at number 900 West Encore Drive to verify the well-being of an elderly person.

A neighbor told the officers that I hadn’t seen the woman in a couple of weeks.and that was not like her, according to media outlets such as Fox 26.

Upon entering the indicated address, the agents found the woman’s body locked in a closet and, according to the police report, there was evidence that she did not die of natural causes.

The body was found wrapped in plastic bags.and detectives noted that the victim, identified as Peggi Yingling67, had “been dead for an extended period of time.”

An autopsy later revealed that the woman’s death was not natural and showed signs of strangulation.

Yingling lived with her daughter, Kelli, who made statements that “implicated” her in the murder, so she was considered a suspect and taken into custody, having allegedly fled from police in a chase on May 2.

The woman is charged with murder, causing injury to an elderly adult and evading a police officer. He faces a sentence of between 25 years and life in prison. if she is found guilty.

Kelli remains in the King County Jail without bond, and her next court date is scheduled for July 9.
