Aimed at low-risk international travelers, whose purpose is to accelerate entry into the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Port of St. Louis, introduced the Global Entry (GE) mobile app at St. Louis International Airportuis.

Global Entry is a CBP program) allowing expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. The GE mobile app is an arrival resource for members that allows them to submit their information to CBP upon arrival.

Upon submission, travelers are verified for membership and admission status and receive a secure approval code that they share with a CBP officer. The program greatly improves the efficiency of GE programs and reduces traveler touchpoints.

“GE’s mobile app allows members to be processed and screened upon arrival on their mobile device and share their admission status with an officer, improving efficiency and reducing touchpoints,” said LaFonda D. Sutton-Burke, director of field operations in Chicago.

This program was designed with the objective of facilitating and expediting the process of entering the country, allowing a quick crossing at customs and security checks, with a shorter waiting time in immigration lines and with the availability of the use of entry kiosks at airports in the United States.

GE modernizations, CBP St. Louis offers arrival enrollment for conditionally approved GE members to complete membership interviews and the use of biometric matching technology for arrivals and departures that allows CBP to make existing travel requirements more efficient and create a smoother, safer and more secure arrival and departure experience.

To process Global Entry, CBP approval is required, in addition to having a valid passport, an American visa, paying a fee of $100, make an online application and subsequently an interview.
