Trump receives NRA endorsement, asks gun owners to vote

“The survival of our Second Amendment is undoubtedly at stake in the election. They want to destroy our country. The Second Amendment is under siege, but they won’t get it with me. We need that Second Amendment, for our safety, for hunting, and for all those things. Because the bad guys are not going to give up their weapons,” he said.

Trump used the speech to enthuse some of his most loyal supporters, asking them not to stay home and to go to the polls in November.

Trump dedicated much of his roughly two-hour speech to focus on immigration, crime rates and baseless conspiracy theories about the theft of the 2020 election.

Before Trump gave his speech, Vice President Kamala Harris, who champions the administration’s efforts to end gun violence, issued a harsh statement against him.
