A goal from Mexican Alan Pulido in the 120th minute decided this Wednesday the triumph of Sporting Kansas City beat Union Omaha 2-1 and gave his team the pass to the round of 16 of the United States Cup.
On the field of Union Omaha, a team that plays in the USL (equivalent to the second level of American soccer), the Sporting Kansas City needed a comeback to extend its run in the US Open Cup.
Cyprus player Marinos Tzionis equalized an initial Union goal, the work of Kunga Lakesand forced the extension, in which Pulido, who had taken the field at the hour mark, scored the last-gasp goal.
Pulido celebrated his fourth goal of the courseafter the three signed in the MLS.
Among the other results on Wednesday, the New Mexico, from the USL, surprised by eliminating Real Salt Lake of the Colombian Cristian ‘Chicho’ Arango (4-2).
