A man called David Atwell of Kannapolis, North Carolina won more than $837,187 thousand dollars on a lottery ticket surprisingly after his sister told him that she dreamed that he found gold.
Atwell bought a $1 Cash 5 ticket at Jiffy Quik, winning on April 27. “In his dream I found a lot of gold. I guess dreams do come true,” he said.
According to the North Carolina Education Lottery news release, Atwell told officials about her sister’s dream. “My family always said that I was the luckiest in the family.”, he expressed while mentioning “at first I saw that the jackpot went back down to $100,000 dollars so I knew someone had won it. I had no idea it was me,” she said while smiling.
David’s wife said that as he matched the five numbers on the cue ball and realized he had won the jackpot, “he was screaming so much it scared the cat.” Atwell claimed on April 30 that after paying tax it was $598,591 dollars. With this money he plans to pay some bills and donate part of his profits to his church.
According to the lottery agency the probability of winning the jackpot is 1 and 962,598.0 and to increase the chances, players can add a “Double Play” for the cost of $1, which is basically adding their numbers to a second drawing for a chance to win additional prizes.
