Authorities issue Amber Alert for kidnapping of 1-year-old child in Los Angeles County

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued early this Wednesday an Amber Alert for the kidnapping of a 1-year-old childa crime allegedly committed by his own father in the city of West Covina.

Authorities are looking for Wesley Williams, 46, allegedly responsible for kidnapping 1-year-old Weston Landrumaccording to the CHP, which published the alert shortly after 1:30 a.m. this Wednesday.

The suspect was last seen in the North Grand Avenue area of ​​the city of West Covinaaround 9:00 pm this Monday.

The California Highway Patrol said Williams was behind the wheel of a White 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with California license plate 75001B3.

According to West Covina Police Departmentthe incident follows a domestic violence call around 9:00 pm this Tuesday on North Grand Avenue, near Fairway Lane.

The woman was in a car accompanied by her son and Williams. who, according to her, hit her. The mother got out of the car and contacted police for help.

The mother told them that The father threatened to harm little Weston before fleeing with him. Williams is not believed to be armed.

Weston was described as a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, 3 feet tall and weighing approximately 10 pounds. She was wearing a gray shirt with the image of a “bunny” and camouflage pants.

Wesley Williams was described as a 46-year-old man with brown hair and blue eyesstanding 6 feet one inch tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds.

The suspect was wearing a Hawaiian shirtblue jeans, gray/blue shoes and has a wing tattoo on the front of his neck.

California Highway Patrol did not report the family relationship in the Amber Alert of Williams with the kidnapped minor.

It was requested that if anyone knows the whereabouts of Williams or notices the presence of the suspect and the 1-year-old child immediately call 911.
