Shakira will attend the Met Gala for the first time. This afternoon, the Colombian singer confirmed that she would attend the most important fashion event.
Through her social networks, Shakira announced that she was in New York to attend, for the first time, the Met Gala. “Hello, New York!” wrote the Colombian along with a photo of a box with some sweets with some photos of dresses alluding to the event.
The singer, who will soon begin her tour Women do not crytraveled from Miami, the city where he lives, to New York to make his grand debut at the Met Gala.
As it was expected, The reactions of her fans were immediate and they filled Shakira’s publication with celebratory comments.
Until now, The Colombian singer has not published clues about the dress she will wear tonight nor has she yet walked the Met Gala red carpet. Personalities such as Katy Perry, Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez have already passed through it.
This year, the Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, will havein addition to Anna Wintour, Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Jennifer Lopez as hosts.
This seems to be Shakira’s year. In March, the Colombian singer published her album Women do not cry the one that will take her on tour in the coming months.
What is this year’s theme and dress code?
The theme of this edition of the gala is “Sleeping Beauties: the awakening of fashion”which promises a fusion between the historical and the technological, and The dress code is “The Garden of Time”, inspired by the story of the same name by JG Ballard.
It is a short story that presents two aristocrats immersed in an environment of beauty surrounded by chaos, so this Monday you could see many outfits inspired by period costumes.
What do you do at the Met Gala?
After the red carpet, the world’s largest fashion event begins with an opening ceremony for the Costume Institute exhibit, followed by a dinner and a fashion exhibit of 250 items from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection. NY.
