Mexican driver Pato O'Ward congratulated Lando Norris for his first victory in Formula 1

This Sunday the winner of the Miami Grand Prix of the Formula 1 was Lando Norris team driver McLaren. Although he was born in Belgium, he is close to the Mexican Duck O’WardpIndyCar driver for Arrow McLaren, because they are organizational partners, although they compete in different motorsport categories.

The Monterrey racer, who is also a reserve driver for McLaren in Formula 1was aware of what was happening at the Miami Gardens circuit and was very happy when he found out that the winner was Norris, so he gave him an emotional congratulations.

“Landooooo! I’m very happy for you. McLaren F1 explosive strategy!”, published Pato O’Ward, after the triumph of his organizational partner.

Norris’ victory takes on a significant value, given that It is his first in Formula 1 and he got it after 110 races and 15 podiums achieved.

“There are many people who have helped me on this long path and I owe everything to the team, because from the beginning they have believed in me and I in them. It is something wonderful for me and for them,” Lando told the media after crossing the finish line.

Norris had not won a race since 2018, when he was in Formula 2, racing for the Carlin team. A year later he made the jump to the premier category and since then He had four seasons without a win.

For his current team, McLaren, this is the first victory since Daniel Ricciardo climbed to the top of the podium in Italy, in 2021.

For its part, Pato O’Ward is in sixth position in the 2024 IndyCar season, with 71 units and a victory.
