César Montes will play with Almería in the Second Division despite offers from Liga MX

Cesar Montes He is very clear about where he is going to be during the next season. The Mexican defender confirmed that he is staying in Europe since he plans to respect his contract with Almería, which will have to play in the Second Division after losing the category in the current LaLiga campaign.

“My goal is to stay on this side in Europe, I am in the Almería project and we had to go down unfortunately, but until now I will compete in Second to return to the team where it deserves”said the defender who became a fixture in Almería’s starting eleven this season.

César Montes, 27 years old, acknowledged that there have been approaches from Liga MX teams to seek his return to the Aztec championship, a situation that has been repeated on several occasions in recent years with Mexican players, but that the central defender trained in the Monterrey does not share.

“In Mexico they pay you very well, you live very well. I have had approaches from Liga MX, and they involve you more because of the moment in which you compete. The decisions of those who return are made at the family level and people do not understand it“said the player who is in his second season in Spain.

“Last season already happened when several players returned to Mexico, but I would like more Mexican soccer players to come, but we are very expensive”considered César Montes who spoke of the difficulty that Mexican players face in being able to reach European football.

“Mexican players are very expensive for the European market. It’s hard for us to leave, it was hard for me because you also have to prove, I had to play in the Olympic Games, a World Cup, have great seasons with Monterrey, and even so the teams here have doubts”he pointed out.

Regarding his experience in what is being his first year with Almería after having spent a season with Espanyol, the Hermosillo-born player assured: “My board came to regret not bringing me sooner, but why don’t they bet because they don’t know how we are going to adapt”.
