Lieutenant General Herbert Raymond McMaster, former National Security Advisor during the presidency of Donald Trump, is convinced that the world “could be on the brink of another World War” and the trigger could be the disaster caused by Israel in the Gaza Strip and the invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine.

During an interview with the British radio station LBC Radio, McMaster referred to the delicate moment that the world is experiencing in the face of the desires of some nations to extend their dominion to the detriment of the borders of other countries.

“We could be on the cusp of another World War. “I know it sounds dramatic, but I think we have to take it seriously to prevent that from happening,” he mentioned.

The retired military officer urged the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom to increase their defense spending in anticipation of the global conflict.

Regarding the White House, it recommended increasing defense spending until it reaches the equivalent of 4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), that is, double what is currently required of members of the Atlantic Treaty Organization. North (NATO).

The former military man born in Pennsylvania pointed out that this budget should be used to manufacture high-tech missile systems such as Israel’s Iron Dome.

“It is much cheaper to avoid a war than to have to fight. I believe that all countries will have to develop this type of defenses and long-range missiles; “hypersonic missiles are important,” he emphasized.

McMaster also took on the task of criticizing Donald Trump for thinking that he could ever reach an agreement with Vladimir Putin to stop the offensive orchestrated by the Kremlin in Ukraine.

“Putin is not interested in a deal. “He wants to drag everyone else down, under the theory that he can be the last man standing and restore the Russian Empire,” he claimed.

Recently, the Russian president warned that a direct conflict would arise between Moscow and NATO members if allied forces were sent to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, another conflict that could arise is located in Taiwan, where fear of a possible invasion orchestrated from Beijing is on the surface.
