Dodgers turn on the bats without Shohei Ohtani

The Dodgers responded with an 8-0 victory over Arizona in a lineup that did not have Shohei Ohtani.

Dave Roberts, manager of the Dodgers, stated that this is a scheduled break. Ohtani had played every game as a designated hitter until Wednesday.

Roberts set up a lineup to attack left-hander Jordan Montgomery and it worked. Rookie sensation Andy Pagés still a great addition to the lineup.

The Dodgers took the lead in the second inning on a two-run homer by Pagés, his third this season.

Catcher Will Smith also contributed with a solo home run, his fourth of the year. Venezuelan Miguel Rojas went 2 for 4 and drove in a run, stole a base and hit a double.

Mookie Betts went 3-for-5 and raised his average to .377. Betts leads the Major Leagues in batting average, hits (49) and OPS (1,104).

This Thursday the Dodgers rest and will travel return to Los Angeles to face a tough three-game series against the Atlanta Braves.
