Since 2018 the actor Kevin Spacey He was involved in legal problems for alleged crimes of sexual assault, of which he was acquitted last year. Now ready is a two-part documentary featuring interviews with men who knew him, titled “Spacey Unmasked”.
A few days ago the trailerwhich features Spacey (winner of the award Oscar for the movies “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty”) at various stages of his career. Those interviewed are not the people involved in the trial against the actor, which took place in July 2023.
“Spacey Unmasked” is produced and directed by Katherine Haywood. The documentary will be released in the UK on May 6, but there is already a distribution deal in many other countriesincluding the United States, where it will be available on the platform streaming MAXalthough it is not yet known from what date.
Kevin Spacey -who declared himself gay in 2017 and always denied the accusations against him- has taken the premiere of “Spacey Unmasked” with humorand through his representative sent a statement to Varietywhich says: “It is an honor for me to star in my first film with Warner Brothers in many years. “I hope the Academy takes note of some of the great performances from the lesser-known cast.”
In a statement the production company All3 Media International reported that the documentary “is a look at a man who was once one of the most admired and respected actors in the world. Featuring never-before-seen interviews and archives, the series examines his life from childhood to his Broadway success and subsequent meteoric rise to stardom. The spectacular fall from grace of Kevin Spacey It came amid allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior. This two-part series will investigate his behavior and speak to several men about their experiences.”
