California already has one fast charging station for electric vehicles for every five gas stationssaid Governor Gavin Newsom.
To celebrate Earth Week, the governor of California visited a Tesla charging station to highlight the state’s efforts to build and expand an improved freight networkas well as the electric car firm’s work to open its fast chargers to vehicles other than Tesla.
“This is all in an effort to build the infrastructure in the state of California that Currently there are a total of 105,000 electric vehicle chargers for public use. and about 10,000 of these supercharging stations,” Newsom said on social media.

The rapid growth of California’s charging station network It is part of a multimillion-dollar investment plan approved in February that “accelerates progress” on state electric vehicle charging and hydrogen refueling goals, especially in low-income communities.
This plan will help establish 40,000 new public charging stations across the state to create the most extensive charging and refueling network in the country.

Newsom said that 25% of all new vehicle purchases in the Golden State are now electric vehicles. California also recently approved a $1.9 billion plan to build a larger charging network.
“California dominates in this space. We want to maintain that leadershipmaintain that dominance as we transition from dirty tailpipes to a future of green, low-carbon growth,” the state governor added.
