Opponent Xóchitl Gálvez accuses the ruling party in Mexico of becoming “a narco party”

The presidential candidate of the opposition coalition Fuerza y Corazón por México, Xóchitl Gálvezassured that the party in power, National Regeneration Movement (Morena), has become a “narco party” and warned that “it is enough to give hugs to criminals.”

During the second presidential debate, he mentioned that, “Criminals already have a party. “Morena has become a narco party.”

“There are no more hugs for criminals,” added the opponent, referring to the motto of “hugs and not bullets” used by the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.to define its security policy that seeks to target the causes of violence.

Despite the mention of the violence crisis in the country, the debate will focus on economic issues.

The second debate of the three Mexican presidential candidates for the June 2 elections began this Sunday with the participation of, in addition to Gálvez, Claudia Sheinbaum, from the ruling coalition Let’s Keep Making History in which Morena participates; and Jorge Álvarez Máynez, from the also opposition Citizen Movement.

This statement comes hours after a judge freed “El Mencho’s” brother, a situation that the presidential candidate accused as an example of the federal government’s complicity with organized crime.

“The non-involvement of Mencho’s brother in the process is another example of the complicity of the Morena government with organized crime,” he wrote on his social networks.

The presidential candidate pointed out that the government “did wrong” with the complaint against Abraham Oseguera, alias “Don Rodo,” which led to his release.

“The government made the complaint poorly so that the investigation file was poorly integrated and the judge did not have elements to detain him,” he mentioned.

Thus, He said that Morena promoted the Amnesty Law to “release criminals at will”. This reform establishes that whoever is the president may give “direct amnesty” to people subject to trial or sentenced.

Xóchitl Gálvez, candidate of the PAN-PRI-PRD coalition, stated that Morena adores Santa Muerte, showing a t-shirt with her image and a phrase in support of the Fourth Transformation party.

“In the last debate, I called Claudia by her name, I see that she will not do it, so I am going to clarify it once and for all. “I am the candidate of the PAN, the PRI and the PRD, and of millions of citizens, you are the candidate of a narco party,” Gálvez stated while displaying on a poster a publication by Morena on the X platform in which she states that ” they worship” Santa Muerte.

In his final message, Gálvez said that, “Mexico has two paths. Giving in means corruption, violence, lack of medicines, lies, and authoritarianism. Wake up, yes we can build the Mexico that we deserve, to you Panista, to you Priista, to you Perredista, to you citizen, to you disenchanted Morenista, I invite you to work on three values, life, truth and freedom… If we work together we can build “the Mexico we deserve.”
