Accomplice to murderer of child Aiden Leos in May 2021 pleads guilty to concealment

Two weeks after her boyfriend, Marcus Eriz, was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for murdering 6-year-old Aiden Leos during a road rage incident in Orange County in May 2021, his girlfriend Wynne Lee pleaded guilty for her role in the murder.

Wynne Lee, 26, originally from Costa Mesa, pleaded guilty to felony accessory after the incident and a misdemeanor charge of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

Lee was behind the wheel of his car accompanied by Eriz in the front passenger seat. when he fired a shot at the car driven by Aiden’s mothera bullet that hit the minor and caused his death.

The 26-year-old woman admitted to helping Eriz hide after the shooting occurred, on May 21, 2021, on Highway 55 in Orange County, with the intent to avoid arrest, trial, conviction and punishment.

Wynne Lee He received the maximum sentence, four years or 1,460 days in prison, for both charges.. However, under current state law, defendants are allowed to accrue credit for court-ordered home confinement.

Since June 2021, Wynne has been under house arrest and permanently monitored by GPS. Since her arrest, the woman has accumulated 2,106 days of credit time served, which means he has already served his sentence.

Since her arrest, the accused woman has already accumulated the days that the court imposed on her as a sentence.

“Under current law, the defendant gets credit for that, which is basically like I’m imprisoned. “The defendant at this time has exceeded the maximum term imposed by the court,” Judge King said.

Wynne Lee will have to pay $670 in fines next month. Judge King also ordered the woman to pay restitution, an amount to be established later.

Aiden Leos’ family was not present in the courtroom during Wynne Lee’s hearing.

Aiden Leos was shot and wounded on May 21, 2021 just 10 days after celebrating his 6th birthday. The little boy was occupying his booster seat in the back seat of the vehicle driven by his mother, Joanna Cloonan, who was taking the minor to kindergarten when the shooting occurred.

Around 8:00 am, Joanna and Aiden were intercepted by a Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen. Wynne Lee made a peace sign, which Cloonan took as sarcasticand a few miles ahead, as he was merging onto Highway 91, he passed the Volkswagen and gave them the middle finger, Assistant District Attorney Dan Feldman said during opening statements at Marcus Eriz’s trial.

Wynne Lee subsequently placed her car behind Cloonan’s car and Eriz fired a shot with a 9mm Glock pistol that managed to penetrate the woman’s Chevrolet and hit little Aiden.

The couple Eriz and Lee were arrested for California Highway Patrol officers on June 6, 2021.
