A record of 227,112 Mexicans living abroad will be able to vote in the June 2 elections in the 23 centers installed in the United States, Montreal (Canada), Madrid (Spain) and Paris (France), the chancellor, Alicia Bárcena, reported this Monday.
The 20 headquarters in the United States are distributed in the cities of Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New Brunswick, New York, Oklahoma, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Ana, Seattle and Washington.

The event aroused criticism from the presidential candidates, the ruling party Claudia Sheinbaum and the opposition party Xóchitl Gálvez, who accused the INE of preventing the participation of voters, particularly those who had asked to vote online.
The autonomous body clarified on Sunday that 20,964 cases that presented inconsistency will now be able to vote, while there are still 18,760 with irregularities who will still be able to vote in the special ballot boxes at the consulates, although not by Internet or mail.
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs argued that “this is fundamentally a responsibility of the INE.”
“On voting day, which is Sunday, June 2, the consulates are at the disposal of the INE and all the consulate staff, including the consul, leave the facilities because we do not participate, in any way, anywhere. of the process that is the total responsibility of the INE,” he assured.
Mexico will hold the biggest elections in its history on June 2when more than 97 million people are called to renew 20,375 federal positions, including the presidency, the 500 deputies and the 128 senators, as well as nine state governments.
