The second largest campaign donation so far in the 2024 election cycle comes from billionaire George Soros who has contributed $60 million dollars in favor of the Democrats in competition for some disputed position.

A document filed with the Federal Election Commission shows how, Through a non-profit organization founded and financed by the 93-year-old Hungarian magnate, the Democracy PAC, a political action committee in favor of Democratic candidates, has received a large contribution of cash through which the campaigns of various congressmen or candidates to occupy certain seats have been promoted.

Thus, during the first quarter, $21 million was distributed to a dozen super PACs, including donations of $4 million to both the House Majority PAC and the Senate Majority PAC.

Likewise, $2.5 million dollars were allocated to Planned Parenthood Votes and a similar amount to the Black PAC, this with the objective of promoting Democratic candidates in the electoral processes at the state level who sought access to governorships, as well as positions in prosecutors’ offices and legislatures.

It should be noted that other lines of resources were directed towards Democracy PAC, Americans for Contraception Victory Fund and American Bridge, organizations that have jointly committed to investing $140 million dollars to strengthen the image of Joe Biden in his race to be re-elected. in front of the White House.

Despite how bombastic George Soros’ donation made under the name of the Political Reform Fund may seem, in January 2022 he had already made another of $125 million dollars allocated to the Democracy PAC.

In fact, some financial analysts agree that behind the generosity of the Hungarian magnate lies his expansion in the field of radio broadcasting, since in February he invested more than $400 million dollars in a radio group, which has more than 220 stations throughout the country and to complete the transaction it had to have the approval of the government.
