KIA has thrown himself fully into the electric mobility after having an unprecedented strategy for the vehicle manufacturer. It’s about the plan “KIA Sustainability Movement”, presented at the time during the Los Angeles Auto Show and with which, it marks its course in the coming years.
During the event, KIA offered a first image of its future electric models. This range will be made up of 11 vehicles by 2026and they will sit on the E-GMP platform which the Korean firm already presented during the launch of the EV6.
Thus, the automotive giant paved the way for the presentation of the large SUV that appears as the letter of credit, the EV9which has arrived in the automotive market to consolidate itself as a benchmark in its sector.
In fact, KIA pointed out that for the design of the car was inspired by nature. Furthermore, its manufacturing was based on the principles of the circular economy and used recycled materials developed from ocean waste, which pose a serious threat to the marine ecosystem.
The aspect is related to the fact that the Korean brand collaborates with “The Ocean Cleanup”, a non-profit organization that developed a specific technology to remove plastic from the oceans that they call interceptors.
So, KIA will provide material support for the construction of this innovation and will use the plastic waste collected in the cleaning process, in the production of its vehicles.
More variants
In the middle of the KIA’s sustainable proposal, three more aerodynamic cars are expected to arrive. It is presumed that they will be made up of a four-door sedan to compete with the Tesla Model 3.
Likewise, it is speculated that the company will present a larger electric car to replace the KIA Stinger, model that little by little will give up its space within the range.
Within the ambitious plan there would also come a hatchback with sporty aspirationsa prototype that would take the same concept presented by the EV6 and taking them one step further in terms of offering a much more sporty and passionate image.
Finally, Koreans are also currently immersed in the development of hydrogen fuel cell technologywhich they hope to put on the market with a new model in the year 2028.
