Michoacán is a Mexican state that has suffered the ravages of drug trafficking. Its varied geography is used by criminal groups to set up their camps, and in one of them seven bodies of hitmen were discovered, all with signs of torture.

According to the Latinus media, in the municipality of Chilchota they operate the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), The Knights Templar and United Cartelsthe latter is made up of the Tepalcatepec Cartel, Los Viagras, the Los Reyes Cartel, Los Blancos and other criminal groups.
As is the case in other parts of Mexico, several narcowars are being fought in Michoacán, which has caused violence to grow exponentially, leaving the local inhabitants in the middle, who have been resisting in every possible way for years.

In the first 74 days of 2024, 364 violent homicides have been committed in Michoacan territory, all related to one of the 14 criminal groups that operate in the region.
