Once again, the Mexican state of Michoacán was the scene of an ambush on soldiers by members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), now it was in the municipality of Aguililla, when the soldiers were carrying out a search operation to find those responsible for a massacre.
According to information provided by the newspaper El Universal, the armed attack occurred between the towns of El Aguaje and Naranjo de Chila, in the municipality belonging to Tierra Caliente, which has been ravaged by violence for several years.
According to the Mexican media, federal security sources indicated that the ambush was a criminal response because federal forces have located in that area Armando Gómez Núñezalias “Delta 1”, commander of the elite forces of the CJNG.
Intelligence areas place said criminal leader as the intellectual and operational author of the attacks against the military, both in Aguililla and in the municipality of Coalcomán.

To locate those responsible for the first attack, an operation is carried out by land and air. More attacks by the CJNG against the authorities are expected.
First attack
One day before this ambush, another attack by the CJNG on elements of the Mexican Army was recorded in the Michoacan municipality of Coalcomán, which left four elements dead.
The hitmen attacked a military convoy using land mines and later drone-launched explosivesa terrorist technique increasingly used by Mexican cartels.
The military convoy was traveling along a rural road when several mines exploded in its path. After that, a group of hitmen fired with high-powered weapons, supported by drones loaded with explosives.
