In the event that Donald Trump becomes the official candidate of the Republican Party for the presidential elections, he will have to define a running mate and among his many options he added Greg Abbott.

After a few weeks ago the Texas president supported his aspirations to become standard bearer of the conservative party, Trump showed a gesture of reciprocity towards the 66-year-old politician.

During an interview with the television network Fox News, The New York magnate acknowledged that Abbott meets the conditions to be added to the list as a possible vice presidential candidate.

“It absolutely is,” he admitted hours after meeting him in Eagle Pass, Texas, as part of a visit to the southern border with Mexico.

In fact, The former president of the nation shares Greg Abbott’s vision of ending the immigration problembut not only by strengthening border crossings, but also through the creation of laws that classify entering the country without a visa as a crime that involves serving a prison sentence and then being deported.

Just as Trump began building a new border wall during his time as president, Abbott ordered a barrier of buoys to be placed in the Rio Grande and thousands of meters of barbed wire in certain areas of transit for undocumented immigrants.

Furthermore, with its strategy of transporting thousands of immigrants by land and air from Texas to sanctuary cities such as New York and Chicago, as well as through the enactment of a law against undocumented immigrants, it has become one of the toughest adversaries. of President Joe Biden, which is well seen by Donald Trump.

However, The governor of the state of “The Lone Star” represents only one of more than half a dozen alternatives that are presented to Trump to choose his partner on the ballot.

Kristi Noem, governor of South Dakota; Tim Scott, Senator from South Carolina; businessman Vivek Ramaswamy; Byron Donalds, R-Fla.; and Tulsi Gabbard, representative of Hawaii, are other names in the former president’s deck.
