Arthur Hanlon, a lover of Latin music, who brings his Piano Magic to Los Angeles

The acclaimed pianist and composer Arthur Hanlon takes audiences on a musical journey through this intimate concert series while touring the United States and has called Piano Magic, inspired, as always, by Latin music.

In an exclusive interview, Arthur Hanlon shared his thoughts on the origins of his Piano Magic and how, his instrument, It has made him create very careful musical arrangements in Latin genres.

“It’s about time. I grew up in Detroit. I started playing piano in clubs when I was 15. I moved to New York, where I found merengue, bachata, salsa. It was the ’90s and that experience was transformative for me. It totally changed the reason for my career,” she explains.

With an academic background and a deep connection to Latin music, Hanlon has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry that have captivated the entire world. From Ana Bárbara to Ivy Queen and Kany García.

As for covers and how you choose a song that you want to arrange or work on, right now that you’re releasing a series of albums called Legadosa tribute to all the Latin musicians and songs that have inspired him, said:

“It’s not about better or worse… I remember that as a student at 20 years old walking through New York I heard Bachata Rosa (by Juan Luis Guerra) when it came out… I started playing it and said: -This song is so romantic… Let me mix it with my piano- And that was why. It sounded very good with this…”
