Chicharito Hernández expresses his emotion after debuting with Chivas: “I felt like a footballer again”

Chivas de Guadalajara defeated Pumas UNAM 3-1 in a match which was marked by the return of Javier “Chicharito” Hernándezwho expressed that he felt like a footballer again.

The Mexican forward played a few minutes after entering the 88th minute at the Akron Stadium who applauded him with thousands of applause as he stepped onto the Chivas field after 14 years of a distinguished career in Europe and the MLS.

“I am happy, it is a very gratifying moment because they are very hard moments, very lonely, but very enriching.” and there is no better way than to do it at home, beating one of the most important clubs in the country,” he commented at a press conference after the match.

“I knew that this moment was going to come late early and I felt like a footballer again, I have no words,” the forward commented excitedly after his return after more than a decade.

With this victory, Chivas de Guadalajara remains in seventh place in the standings with 15 points, three units behind third place held by Fernando “Tano” Ortiz’s Rayados de Monterrey.

For Javier Hernández, the goal will continue to be a championship and to excite young people this season.

“The championships and that the institution continues to grow, that it is a watershed so that many kids can have the career they want… a very convincing result that allowed me to play in this very packed stadium.”

Javier Hernández stressed that he is not yet ready for 90 minutes and that it could take much longer than he thought together with the team.

“I’m not here for 90 minutes, that’s going to take time; It will depend on many factors, it can last much longer than we think or less,” he acknowledged.

Guadalajara defeated Pumas de la UNAM at home 3-1 with goals from Cade Cowell, Víctor Guzmán and Antonio Briseño, With which he rose to seventh place in the Clausura tournament classification, with 15 points.

Guadalajara will visit the leader Cruz Azul next Saturday on matchday 10 of the tournament and four days later they will play the first leg of the round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup against América.
