With one of the two goals he scored three minutes from the end of the game, the Argentine Lucas Rodríguez tied the duel against Atlético San Luis 3-3, to save the job from coach Miguel Herrera, who with another setback in the Clausura 2024 tournament, his continuity at the head of the border squad would have been compromised.

A tie that was blood and fire due to the somersaults that the scoreboard had, as Tijuana opened the scoring with the first score by South American Lucas Rodríguez, then Atlético de San Luis tied through Brazilian Leonardo Bonatini.

Minutes later, Efraín Álvarez once again put the visitors ahead and made them think that they could leave the field of the team led by Gustavo Leal with the flags displayed.

For the second half, San Luis adjusted its pieces and came out determined to seek the result at any cost and from words they turned to actions, scoring two goals, the first Mateo Klimowicz, to make it 2-2.

That score motivated the locals more to go for the victory and with a great goal from Javier Guemez, they made the score 3-2, placing Miguel Herrera’s position on the brink of the guillotine.

It was then that those from Tijuana felt like a blow to see themselves down on the scoreboard and they desperately tried to even the score.

Thus the hosts of ‘Piojo’ achieved their goal three minutes from the end with the second goal from Lucas Rodríguez, to establish the spectacular tie and give pure oxygen to the project of the current Xolos strategist.

The Xolos even had the four-leaf clover on their side, when the Spanish Unai Bilbao took a penalty, which could have been the victory over the Las Las Tunas, but in the end their plans could not come to fruition.

With this, Tijuana reached four points, while San Luis reached seven points and five games without winning.
