The Tuzos of Pachuca put soul, heart and life into their actions at the Hidalgo stadium and that effort had the expected dividends by defeating 2-1 to América, taking away the undefeated record in the Clausura 2024 tournament and at the same time breaking a long streak of 24 games without losing as visitors.

With two goals from Erick ‘Chiquito’ Sánchez, the Hidalgo team took perfect advantage of the doubts in the American starting eleven that the Brazilian coach André Jardine commanded, with the Dutch Javairo Dilrosun and Kevin Álvarez, without being in full power, from the start of hostilities.

These decisions meant that América did not have enough strength to face an intense Hidalgo squad that, without caring about having less experience in its players, stood up to the powerful Americanists in the 90 minutes.

Without a doubt, Pachuca understood perfectly how the actions were going to be, with which they besieged the capital’s team at all times, preventing them from having comfortable movement of the ball and at the same time trying to offend Luis Malagón’s goal in most of the actions. .

A lot had to do with the performance of the Tuzos, the work of the Venezuelan José Rondón and the Moroccan Oussama Idrissi, who made the Águilas defenders see their luck, who were overwhelmed when trying to prevent the locals from passing over them .

Even in the first half when Pachuca dominated the actions, the young Miguel Rodríguez got in from the right, beating Cristian ‘Chicote’ Calderón, who only managed to put his arm on the Tuzos forward’s back, but the whistler Víctor Cáceres did not He wanted to score the maximum penalty.

That’s how they went to half-time, but in the second half, Pachuca returned with more vigor in search of victory and found the answer to their desires with two goals from Erick Sánchez at minutes 55 and 75.

América diminished in the attack, only managing to respond with the naturalized Mexican Julián Quiñones, but that was all, since Pachuca was closer to increasing the advantage that América could tie.

Thus, the eleventh team led by the Uruguayan Guillermo Almada, took the million-dollar team’s undefeated march in the current competition and broke the streak of 24 games without losing that they had accumulated since the first leg of the Apertura 2022 semifinals, when they fell to Toluca in the Nemesio Diez stadium 2-1.
