During the Super Bowl, American Values 2024 aired a 30-second ad in support of RFK Jr. However, The production caused a stir as it was largely based on footage of his uncle’s campaign to win the presidency three years before he was assassinated.
Faced with this situation, the Washington lawyer who has become a headache for his former Democratic colleagues issued a message through the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, where he apologized.
“I am very sorry if the Super Bowl ad caused pain to anyone in my family. The ad was created and aired by American Values Super PAC without any input or approval from my campaign.. FEC rules prohibit Super PACs from consulting with me or my staff. God bless you,” he indicated.
In response, Bobby Shriver, the independent candidate’s 70-year-old cousin, criticized the ad for its misuse of images related to his mother.
“My cousin’s Super Bowl ad used our uncle’s faces and my mother’s faces. She would be dismayed by his deadly views on health care. Respect for science, vaccines, and equity in healthcare were in her DNA. “She strongly supported my healthcare work at @ONECampaign and @RED, which he opposes,” she wrote on X.
