Lionel Scaloni, world champion coach, praises the growth of the MLS and does not rule out coaching there

Lionel Scaloni the technician who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Argentina shared his impressions about the MLS and he filled the league with praisein addition to expressing his desire to lead there in the future and explained his reasons.

In statements released this Tuesday by the MLS, Scaloni noted that The North American professional league “has improved a lot and has begun to look at young guys with great projectionwho have a lot of talent, such as Thiago (Almada), (Alan) Velasco and many more.”

When questioned about whether He sees himself managing an MLS team in the future.Scaloni admitted that he would like to take on that challenge.

“Yes, why not. I would like it, there would be no problems. Always where the challenges are, the challenges, I have always liked and why not,” he declared.

The Argentine coach believes that the arrival of foreign coaches to the MLS has “enriched” the league.

“There are teams that play in a very European way which makes the league competitive. And there are other teams that preserve the Latin tradition even more,” he commented.

Scaloni added that the MLS is “a growing league”, “that is going to get bigger” and as has been shown in the case of Almada, it is not a problem to be called up with the Argentine team.

Regarding Thiago Almada, 22 years old and who plays for Atlanta United FC of the MLS, Scaloni pointed out that the decision to include him in the senior team that played, and won, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar “was not difficult.”

“He is a player who associates very well, who plays very well with the ball and who fits our team very well,” he explained.

“The contribution was very good. In addition to being a great player, he is a great boy, very professional and good. For us it is a great pleasure to have you,” he concluded.
