Dan Marino and Scarlett Johansson team up for M&Ms commercial for Super Bowl LVIII

Actress Scarlett Johansson and former NFL star Dan Marino followed very different professions but they have something in common: a taste for candy, which reaches obsessive levels with M&Ms.
During the Super Bowl, Johansson and Marino will star in a commercial for these sweets, which will try to portray them as the most fun thing you can eat while watching the game. And, therefore, both will act in funny situations, mocking their respective conditions of “almost champions”, one at the Oscar and another at the Super Bowl.

The spot will feature guests including former NFL players Terrell Owens and Bruce Smith. Johansson admires Marino so much that she agreed to do the commercial even before she knew it would be advertising M&Ms. Luckily, the actress loves this product, particularly the peanut butter version.

“Some creative brain brought us together,” said Johansson, who starred in the films “Black Widow,” “Lucy” and “Asteroid City.” “I was pretty excited about this, mainly because I would be working with Dan. I don’t want to sound crazy, but I was eager to meet him. As soon as my agent mentioned Dan Marino’s name, I was like, ‘yeah, this is awesome! What product is this for?'” Marino likes the chocolate variety, but he was just as excited to work with Johansson. None of them cared that the commercial made fun of them a little.

“Life goes on,” said the Hall of Fame quarterback, who played 17 seasons with the Miami Dolphins and played in the 1985 Super Bowl. “I played in a Super Bowl and I didn’t win it. But time passes and this was not possible. I think it’s perfect if we can all have fun, make an entertaining Super Bowl commercial. Alright. Almost champions, the comfort and fun of doing a Super Bowl commercial.”

Scarlett Johansson’s husband makes jokes about the actress’s films

The marriage of Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson, characterized by maintaining a low profile despite their fame, became involved in rumors after a peculiar comment by the comedian on Saturday Night Live during a sketch called “Christmas Joke Exchange.” In this segment, Jost made a somewhat awkward reference to his wife’s work, highlighting the humor and irony that are essential to the show.

Jost’s comment during the sketch, where he introduced himself as a news anchor, sparked laughter and some discomfort: “New York State now allows movie theaters to serve alcohol, so I can finally enjoy my wife’s little independent art films.” However, she tried to soften the situation by adding: “Just kidding, love, I love all your movies and if you ask me seriously, you’re a better ‘Black Widow’ than Coretta Scott King.”

Rumors of a romance between Jost and Johansson arose in May 2017, when they were seen kissing after the actress’ participation on Saturday Night Live. In December of the same year they made their relationship public, and in May 2019 they got engaged, officially marrying in October 2020 in New York. In August 2021, they welcomed their first child, Cosmo.

Humor has always been a fundamental part of the couple’s relationship. On one occasion, during the MTV Movie Awards, Jost surprised Johansson by pouring a bucket of green slime on her head during a thank-you video. Despite the actress’s initial annoyance, the gesture showed the dynamism and complicity they share.

Although Johansson admits to being completely in love with Jost, she confessed in an interview with Drew Barrymore that, in her youth, she would never have dated someone like him. The actress revealed that she would not have dated him as a teenager, even seeing a photo of Jost in high school during the interview.
