The former president insists that if they do not accuse Joe Biden after classified documents were discovered in his residence, which corresponds to his time as vice president, they should not blame him either, since both would have made the same mistake.
After investigating how 90 documents, 50 of them with classified markings, were discovered by authorities in the corner of an office located in Joe Biden’s home, based in Wilmington, Delaware, Special prosecutor Robert Kyoung Hur determined that the Democrat “intentionally” withheld the documents when he served as vice president, but did not file any charges.
Through a report, the New York lawyer concluded that the current president of the nation had memory problems.
“Based on our direct interactions and observations of him, he is someone about whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him (by then a former president over 80 years old) for a serious crime requiring an obstinate state of mind.
We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden will probably would appear before a juryas he did during our interview, like a sympathetic, well-intentioned old man with a bad memory“says the document.
In this regard, during a press conference for the National Rifle Association, Donald Trump pointed out that not pressing charges against the current president was strong evidence of wanting to protect him.
“It was just announced that Joe Biden’s Justice Department will not file charges against corrupt Joe despite his intentionally withholding undisclosed amounts of ultra-classified national security documents.
Now, that’s not what I’ve been hearing and he’s not under the Presidential Records Act, which is a great thing, I am. “It is an act of protection,” he expressed.
Likewise, the 77-year-old Republican attacked the Department of Justice.
“He is desperately trying to turn the case around. If they are not going to impeach Biden, that is up to them, but then they should not impeach me“he emphasized.
It should be noted that Donald Trump faces 40 charges for allegedly mishandling classified documents and trying to prevent authorities from recovering them from his Mar-a-Lago residence.Florida, after he was no longer president.
However, the New Yorker has always pleaded not guilty and is awaiting the start of his trial initially scheduled for May.
