He real Madrid already shelved the tie that Atlético de Madrid snatched at the last minute on Sunday with a goal from Marcos Llorente and this Monday they trained to prepare for the duel they will have on Saturday against the Girona for the leadership of Spanish football.

The duel will be key, since the merengue team is in first place in the championship, but only by two points, so if they almost lost at the Santiago Bernabéu against Girona, which occupies second place, they would automatically exchange places in the table .

The bad news for them is that the German Antonio Rüdiger and the Brazilian Vinícius Jr. did not work this morning with the rest of their teammatesdue to injuries.

In the case of Rüdiger it is a strong knee that he suffered in the left thigh last Thursday during the match against Getafe. The center-back was included in the squad for the derby on Saturday, but he was dropped from it on Sunday as he was not in a position to play.

For his part, Vinícius felt cervical discomfort during the warm-up prior to the match against Atlético de Madrid. After that, they gave him medication, he started the match on the bench and even warmed up on the Santiago Bernabéu sideline, but he did not come on to play.

Both went to the Real Madrid Sports City in Valdebebas this Monday to do specific work with the goal of being available on Saturday.

According to sources close to the white team consulted by the EFE agency, the presence or not of both in the match against Girona will depend on their respective developments over the next few days, although there is some optimism that they may be available.

Those who will be a safe casualty are long-term injuries due to ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee, the Belgian Thibaut Courtois, the Brazilian Éder Militao and the Austrian David Alaba.

The good news for Ancelotti during training this Monday was the presence of Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga along with the rest of the starters against Atlético de Madrid.

The midfielder suffered a blow to his right knee that kept him out for almost two months during the derby, but he was shocked and carried out recovery work, on the pitch and in the gym, with his teammates.

On the other hand, the rest of the footballers started the session with physical work in the gym and later completed different exercises with the ball at high intensity, as reflected on the club’s website.
