Young man from Florida arrested for killing his sister after an argument over Christmas gifts

A 14-year-old teenager shot and killed his older sister in Florida after a family argument over Christmas gifts, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri revealed during a press conference.

According to the official, the young man identified as Damarcus Coley went shopping on Christmas Eve with Abrielle Baldwinhis 23-year-old sister, as well as his mother and brother Darcus Coley15 years old.

Suddenly Damarcus started arguing with Darcus about who would get more Christmas gifts. “They had a family feud over who got what and what money was spent on who,” Gualtieri said.

The children continued arguing at their grandmother’s house in the city of Largo, where the 14-year-old allegedly pulled out a semi-automatic pistol, He pointed at his brother and told him he was going to shoot him in the head..

Darcus said he didn’t want to fight and ordered his brother to leave the house. One of his uncles separated the teenagers and took them out to Damarcus, where Abrielle was with her baby.

The young mother told her brother to leave things alone, but The attacker responded by shooting him in the chest.. The baby, who was in a baby carrier, was not injured, Gualtieri said.

The attacker was also injured.

The 15-year-old brother came out with another semi-automatic handgun and allegedly shot the younger teen in the stomach, police said. He then ran and threw the gun into a nearby yard. Darcus was arrested at a relative’s home.

Baldwin was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The bullet passed through her left arm and into her chest, rupturing both of her lungs. She suffered internal bleeding and could not breathe, CBS News reported.

Meanwhile, Damarcus underwent surgery and is now stable in a hospital. He has been charged with first-degree murder, child abuse and felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

The Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office will review the case and will decide if the teenager will be charged as an adult.

For his part, his brother was charged with attempted first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Both teens have prior arrests for auto theft.
