KISS announces avatar show for 2027

KISS fans will have to be patient, as they will have to wait more than three years to witness the first performance of the avatar of the iconic rock band. In a video released by KISS announced that a program with their avatars will arrive in 2027. The band, with a history of 50 years, highlighted that the future is in process, generating expectations among its fans.

The technology behind the KISS avatars, originally developed for ABBA’s “Voyage” show in London, will allow the band to stay “on the road” even in retirement. Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) was responsible for the creation of the avatars, financed and produced by the Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment, the same company behind “ABBA Voyage”.

Gene Simmons, bassist and vocalist of KISS, revealed that around $200 million is being invested in this innovative avatar show. Unlike the ABBA show, the KISS avatars will not be precise digital replicas, but will instead present the band as fantasy superheroes, standing eight feet tall, capable of breathing fire and shooting electricity from their fingers while floating above the surface. audience, according to BBC News.

Although the details of KISS’s plan with their avatars have not yet been fully revealed.os, Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse, mentioned before the final show at Madison Square Garden that they will be resolved after the tour. There is speculation about the possibility of a concert, a rock opera, a musical or an adventure, considering the superpowers of the four members of the band.

These avatars will not be limited to physical stages, but will be available for live shows around the world and in online digital environments, commonly referred to as the metaverse. KISS will thus become the first American band to fully adopt this virtual modality to present their own avatar show.

The project features JOCOUP Creative, an experiential design firm led by Thierry Coup, former creative director of Universal, who has been announced as creative director of the KISS avatar program, along with Johanna “Jojo” Atilano, alumnus of BRC and Universal Creative. KISS’s foray into the virtual realm promises to be a milestone in the music industry and a unique experience for its fans.
