The Serie “Two And a Half Men”created and produced by Chuck Lorrelasted 12 seasons (from 2003 to 2015), but at the end of the eighth the actor Charlie Sheen He was fired from the program because he made comments against Lorre. Ashton Kutcher replaced him, sharing credits with Jon Cryer and Angus Turner Jones; However, the ratings They went down from there.

Now, Sheen has made statements in which he considers himself responsible for the show’s decline, since his bad behavior caused by his substance addiction made him “break the rules.” Interviewed by deadline, said: “There are a lot of great memories…We were working very hard on that show, in all aspects of the production, from the writers’ room to the crew and cast. All. We knew what we had and the value of taking the time to create it properly.

“And I knew the rules, from day one. Well, when I say I knew the rules it’s just what was required of me to contribute to that workplace, what was expected of me. And so, when I started facing them, the rules never changed. I would look at it from a sporting point of view. It’s like we train all week and then Friday night is game night, and you have to play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back. And then, somewhere along the way, I decided the rules no longer applied to me. And that was not fair to the system that existed”said the 58-year-old actor, who after that series starred in another sitcom called “Anger Management”.

“Two And a Half Men” was about Charlie (Sheen), a writer of jingles who lives in a house in front of the beach. Unexpectedly, his brother Alan (Cryer) and his son, Jake (Harper), come to live with him, giving rise to fun situations. In 2011, the actor was in one of his many rehabilitation programs when he made statements against Lorre, and subsequently asked for a salary increase, which was denied. His contract ended in March of that year, and his character “was killed” in the plot.

Last month it was announced that Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre had reconciledreuniting for a new comedy series, “Bookie”which is available on the platform streaming Max. The producer commented to Entertainment Tonight that the time in which Sheen made those statements was very painful, but he also narrated what the reunion was like: “I called his agent… they put me in touch with Charlie and I told him: ‘Here you have a fun idea.’ He couldn’t have been more kind, enthusiastic and generous about the whole thing. We talked on the phone for probably an hour the first time, and I sent him the script, because I asked him to play himself, well, a fictional version of himself, and I wanted to be respectful that it was something he was comfortable with. ”.

Despite all this, Charlie Sheen admits that everything would have been different if he had not made those statementsand so “Two And a Half Men” would have maintained the success it had until the eighth season: “If I hadn’t f***ed everything up, we could have done the program as long as we wanted. That’s why they say, don’t live in regret, but you have to honor it. You have to learn from it.”
