The America club won 3-0 in extra time against Tigres and got the fourteenth star from André Jardine who led the Eagles from start to finish as one of the best teams.

After the victory against Tigres, Jardine thanked everyone and especially dedicated a message to his predecessor Fernando Tano Ortiz.

“Feel champions, especially ‘Tano’ Ortiz, because they did a great job in the three tournaments, but they lacked that which perhaps is missing in football. Sometimes it is easy to have a squad with the shapes they already had and our work was made easier. I congratulate him too,” explained Jardine.

The Brazilian coach stated that the celebration was to enjoy, but from this Monday they were going to be with their minds on number 15 because “it is what a team like this demands.”

Jardine affirms that this is the first of many titles with América

Brazilian André Jardine, coach of the Águilas del América of Mexican soccer, stated this Sunday that the Apertura 2023 title What he obtained this Sunday with his team is the first of many to come.

“I am making a dream come true because I am certain that we are starting something big that we are beginning to build, this is the first of many titles.” “They will come because we want to build a team of the era,” said the coach after América beat Tigres 3-0 in overtime in the second leg of the final.

In the first leg match held last Thursday the result was 1-1, so the Eagles won with a total score of 4-1.

In this clash held at the Azteca Stadium, the teams neutralized each other for 90 minutes. In extra time the local team scored through the Colombian Julián Quiñones, the Paraguayan Richard Sánchez and the Uruguayan Jonathan Rodríguez.

Jardine equated his happiness with what he felt when he led Brazil to the gold medal in the last Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games.

“It is a spectacular feeling, it was an unforgettable night that I hope to repeat again and again here, I think it is only comparable with the gold medal that we won in the Olympic Games, it is a similar feeling,” he explained.
