Always controversial, Kanye West has now made headlines for an attack of anger he had during a party for a select group of people to listen to his new album Vultures. Among the comments, one stood out against the hip hop star Nicki Minajwho did not want to give his authorization for the use of a verse in the song “New Body”which is part of the album.
Through the platform x (before Twitter) he rapper The 46-year-old shared a screenshot of the text he sent to Minaj: “Hi, I’m Ye. Can I call you to authorize “New Body” for the new album?” Nicki’s response – with a video – was very direct: “Kid, that train has left the station, OK? With all due respect, I just released a new album. Why would I release a song that has been available for three years? Come on guys”.
But Kanye did not remain silent, and in his improvised speech he included who he considered his friend: “I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for “Monster.” I supported her career. So I don’t know what it is. But we will get it done, or we just won’t push it.”
The album Vultures It was originally going to be released on December 15., but various problems have delayed its premiere. It has collaborations with artists such as Future and James Blakebut recently it became known that for one of the tracks West included a samples from the group song Backstreet Boys “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” -original from 1997- without permission.
Now the plans Kanye West for making his fans aware of this new production on digital platforms before the end of the year have collapsed, since the artist’s complaints included anti-Semitic comments and mentions of drake, Travis Scott and Jay Z. The last album that rapper brought to the market was Where, in 2021; received mixed reviews, but was nominated for Grammy in the Album of the Year category.
