Suspect in road rage incident shot by police in Hacienda Heights

A man allegedly involved in a road rage incident left him seriously injured after being shot in the Hacienda Heights area by the Huntington Park Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 after Huntington Park police officers responded to a call of an alleged road rage incident, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

Officers found the suspect near the police station, but a chase by the authorities began when the individual did not stop driving.

“When officers responded to the call, the disruptive party, who was allegedly involved in the road rage incident, was located by officers adjacent to the Huntington Park Police Station“said the LASD.

“Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle and subsequently initiated a chase,” authorities added.

The suspect’s vehicle was pursued through several streets until it reached a highway, in Hacienda Heights.

Authorities believed the suspect was under the influence of alcohol.

The shooting occurred in the 15400 block of Garo Street.

“At the end of the chase, the suspect used his vehicle to ram several Huntington Park police vehicles, resulting in an officer-involved shooting,” the LASD reported in its statement.
