Necaxa Femenil speaks out after accusations of abuse against coach Jorge Gómez

The Necaxa women’s Club spoke out this Friday, December 8, after the cases of accusations against coach Jorge Gómez for abusing the players.

The Aguascalientes club announced that it activated the Liga MX Gender Violence protocol.

Necaxa reported that until there is a formal complaint they will continue with the coach.

“Although so far no formal complaint has been filed, the Institution has begun the implementation of measures. preventive measures according to the MΧ LEAGUE Protocol against Sexual Harassment and Discrimination,” the team commented.

The team also urged the players to go to the relevant institutions to report Jorge Gómez.

“Adhered to our principles of equity and an environment. free of violence of any kind, our Institution is completely open and willingness to listen to players and staff who want to approach our Sexual Harassment and Harassment Commission,” the team commented.

What did the Necaxa Femenil players denounce?

The magazine Proceso published a series of testimonies from various players of the club in which they accuse the coach of having parties and try to abuse them to give them ownership.

“Gómez usually invites the players to his house; although it is generally for them to participate in parties where they consume alcoholic beveragesalso seeks to have sexual relations with them -regardless of whether they are minors-, and, in exchange, offers them ownership on the team,” wrote Dayri Hernández, former player of the team.

“All of us who were there know the bottom line of things, I hope all the girls dare to raise their voices,” Hernández wrote on social networks.

So far, Liga MX has not commented on this situation. It is unknown if they will take action on the matter.

Mexico seeks more after the women’s Gold Cup

The coach of the Panama women’s senior soccer team, the Mexican Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Quintanasaid that after the Panamanians qualify for the 2024 W Gold Cup, they have to work twice as hard and in the best way to face a new high-level challenge.
