Henry Martín ended up being the protagonist of the game by leading the comeback of an América that found it very difficult to take the game forward.
The game for América ended up being very complicated despite arriving as favorites after having led the first round of the Mexican soccer championship.
La Fiera roared in the first half against América
Without letting America think too much, León took the lead on the scoreboard just after minute two of the match at the Nuevo Léon stadium. After a corner kick, Paul Bellón entered alone to finish with his head and immediately break the scoreless score. Nicolás Larcamón’s men did not let the Águilas breathe.
But in the sixth minute the Águilas del América were going to place equality on the scoreboard through their scorer Henry Martin. Alejandro Zendejas launched himself with a cross that got Martín clear, who ordered him to keep the ball at the back of the net. The León players asked the main judge, Marco Antonio Ortíz, to review the goal. The score went up on the scoreboard and the Eagles were breathing.
The game was for both of them, Julián Quiñones and Alejandro Zendejas showed up for the Águilas del América. However, León was going to end the road and in the 39th minute, the Uruguayan “Diente” López, caught the American rearguard badly and after a terrible start from Malagón it made it 2-1 for La Fiera and thus both teams went to the showers.
Second half between América and León
Just at the beginning of the second half, Julián Quiñones tested Cota in a couple of opportunities in a row and Henry Martín had the rebound left that put a smile back on the faces of the Americanists and established a 2-2 tie at the Nou Camp. “La Bomba” got his double and América had to go for the game.
The azulcremas had possession and control of the ball. At minute 60 Henry Martín missed the third for América and his personal hat-trick. In the end both teams did not hurt each other anymore and They will face each other in the return leg on Saturday December 2nd at the Azteca stadium for the ticket to the semifinals.
